Edinburgh Living Landscape Website Launch

The Edinburgh Living Landscape website has now been launched and can be found at www.edinburghlivinglandscape.org.uk.
The Living Landscape is a network for nature in our city. It is crucial for the future health, happiness and wellbeing of people and wildlife.
The programme will demonstrate that investment in the natural environment makes economic sense as well as increasing biodiversity and creating healthier urban ecosystems. To do this we need to integrate nature into neighbourhoods across the city.
The Edinburgh Living Landscape will work to benefit local people and wildlife with an aim to make the city one of the most sustainable in Europe by 2050.
Tree Time is one of the flagship projects as part of the initiative.
This is most heartening – congratulations! Have you considered the issue of existing sites under threat? The Astley Ainslie Hospital site, which has magnificent, mature trees, is well worth a long look, and I hope you are involved in the discussions. As a site given to the public in precisely the terms you are expressing, it should be preserved for that purpose and not lost at this juncture.

Hi Sara
Thanks for getting in touch. The Astley Ainslie has a great many trees and we are trying to keep up to date on activity.
Kind Regards
