Request from the public for more trees

A recent visitor to Edinburgh contacted Edinburgh & Lothians Greenspace Trust who was worried about the stately elm and ash trees in key locations in parks and gardens. They noticed that parts of the Meadows and Bruntsfield links were depleted of trees due to storm damage and wondered why it was a slow process in replanting them. He was keen to see more lime trees and beech trees in the city including in some central sections of George Street. He also wondered if Liquidambar trees could be planted along the wide pavement on the north side of Princes Street.
